My philosophy for Queen Bee’s Kitchen is simple: unique, high quality, as local as possible, seasonal and fresh ingredients - in the summer and fall, produce is often handpicked from our property in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Everything is made with attention to detail and with a deep passion for baking and canning as a means to share happiness. Sometimes show-stopping, often seemingly simple recipes made as outlined above always result in sublime baked and canned goods.
The older I’ve become, the more I find myself wanting to savor food and enjoy the experience of eating. I taught myself to bake in my early 20s and it became my passion. As a self-taught baker, I’m always learning and experimenting, and I love to travel the world and gather new recipes and ideas to bring home to my kitchen that can inspire the baked goods I make. I’m always playing with new recipes, and if they pass the rigorous taste testers I have in my life, then they will be added to the site. Please regularly check my Facebook page, Instagram, or this site for new updates! Social media will be where I’ll exclaim, “OMG I found figs! Lemon Ricotta Fig Cake available for a short period of time!”… and that’s a cake you don’t want to miss!
I still marvel when I walk into a good bakery at the sights, smells, and the tastes; I’m the proverbial kid in a candy store…or more like the kid who runs to the glass encasement and smooshes her face up against the glass at the delicious looking things within a bakery. Queen Bee’s Kitchen comes from a long-time passion to start a bakery where the glass cases are covered in fingerprints; but for now, I am a fully licensed residential kitchen through the DHHS in New Hampshire – this means my home kitchen has been inspected and is licensed through the state of NH.
Many people have asked about the name Queen Bee…it’s part personality, but in all the right ways of support and creating a thriving home and community, and in part because we do also keep bees that pollenate the fruits on property and in turn give us honey I can use in some of my baked goods. It’s a beautiful win-win.
All of my goods are baked to order and are made in small batches. Please give a minimum of 5 business days when placing an order for regular baked goods. The Queen Bee asks for a minimum of 2-3 weeks for custom cake/cupcake orders. Weddings require a minimum of 3 months prior notice- 6-12 months is ideal.. Free delivery within 15 miles of my licensed home kitchen. Delivery fees apply outside this area ($0.70 cents/mile, based on 2025 IRS standard milage). Some goods can be shipped, but I do not use any preservatives, so this will depend on the item and season (shipping availability noted in item description). I use an USPS/UPS approved shipping service, these rates apply to all shipped goods, as well as a $6 handling fee (it’s the heavy duty shipping box & packaging).
Let them eat cake, she said.
Marie Antoinette was definitely onto something.
