Sounds a little like an Elvis song, doesn’t it? And it’s likely that The King, himself, would’ve loved these bars for their density, sugar load, and just plain delightfulness.

Stuffed with a layer of creamy caramel, these dense chocolate chip bars make the battle of Team Crispy Cookie and Team Chewy Cookie meet in the middle with a gooey layer of caramel. Team Chewy Cookie is appeased with the base layer that is soft and melds perfectly with the sublime layer of caramel; and then Team Crispy Cookie is satisfied when the top layer bakes up to create a sugary, caramelized layer of chocolate chip cookie crunch.
