Spiced Blood Orange Cupcakes

from $46.00

When citrus season begins, I scout out blood oranges, and if I make it to the local Co-Op in the morning of their annual citrus sale, I’m lucky enough to get a case. Blood oranges have an elusive floral and slight berry note to them, and their color ranges from speckled red and orange to a deep ruby color, making them one of the MVPs of citrus season. Each orange is unique; therefore, treasured.

These cupcakes were a request from a customer, and they’re so yummy and beautiful, they are now an offering, but the blood orange version will be available only in the winter months, when blood oranges are in season; otherwise, these will be a year round offering using regular oranges. Topped with a luscious creamy blood orange frosting with a hint of cardamom, this cupcake combines both cake and almond flour to create a delicate, moist crumb that packs a solid citrus punch with a hint of cardamom.

These cupcakes are a bright spot in otherwise cold, dreary winter days. Or a delicious offering year round, when made with regular oranges

These cupcakes are as delicious as they are gorgeous, and do yourself a favor and go the route of putting the chocolate dipped candied blood orange on top. It takes these cupcakes to glorious new heights both in presentation and taste!

You’ll receive 24 mini or 12 regular sized cupcakes.

Allergens: wheat, eggs, milk, nuts (almonds)

Available for pickup or local delivery only.
