Blueberry Lemon Cake **

Oftentimes with food, we can forget that simple and humble can also equal pure divinity. When blueberries are in season in the summer, this humble Lemon Blueberry Buttermilk Cake is pure bliss.

A homestyle summer cake which combines the sweet bursts of fresh summer blueberries with bright lemons and warm spices, this cake is a fan favorite in the late summer months when blueberries are picked fresh off the bushes on our property.

This cake is multifunctional: serve it in the AM with coffee/tea or with a scoop of ice cream for dessert! While this cake is best in the summer when blueberries are at their peak, this can also be made any time of year. I am no one to deny baked good deliciousness…ever.
