Spiced Pear Cake **

This cake surprised everyone when they first tried it with how good it was (and it was gluten free by request). It’s a brilliant combination of spices that pair gorgeously with the pears on top. Its dense, moist base is loaded with spices, including a hearty dose of ginger, and then topped with beautifully arranged, thinly sliced pears. And the crust that forms on the edges is pure textural brilliance next to the soft cake.

That alone makes this cake stunning, but then drench it in our own honey mixed with spices that shine in the cake, and throw in a dose of edible stars, and suddenly, this cake just won some baking show you didn’t know you entered. [Spiced honey will be in a small jar].

If available, this cake will be made from Bartlett pears from our property. Because yes, pears, apples, blueberries, cherries, grapes, peaches - OH MY - all grow on our property, and the bees are happy little campers in the spring and summer.
