Creamsicle Scones **
As a kid I loved going to the mall because there was one of those old fashioned Orange Julius stores where you could get that creamy, frothy blended orange drink. My mother never understood it, but I dad and I loved those drinks, and this scone has me swooning, as it recreates that creamy, tangy, bright flavor of cream and orange blended together!
Not everyone knows this because lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruit are ever present in our lives and grocery stores, but citrus has a season, and thank the good Lord above that this season is in the winter when all us folks in northern New England are looking for a bright spot of sunshine!
These delish scones are delightful any time of year, but I always like to highlight them in the winter when the oranges are having their season. Does that mean these won’t be good in the dead of summer? Of course not! These will be equally as delish because the flavors are a winner!

The base of this scone is tangy from sour cream and loaded fresh orange zest, and the simple glaze on top just adds the perfect amount of sweetness to this gorgeous nugget of flavor happiness!
